Vet Baldivis

Since 1999, Dr David Hoare has been working as a vet for Baldivis and other City of Rockingham locals, building a small local practice into the Port Kennedy Veterinary Hospital that residents know and love today. In that time, the practice has doubled in size (following the purchase of the neighbouring property in 2004) and is currently employing a total of eighteen support staff and seven experienced vets. Today, those looking for a vet in Baldivis, Rockingham, Port Kennedy, Warnbro and other surrounding suburbs will find Port Kennedy Veterinary Hospital to be a highly efficient clinical practice. We are constantly growing and evolving with the latest developments in veterinary medicine and make use of some of the very latest technologies.

What can I expect during a vet consultation?

Much like humans, animals may at times have health issues that aren’t immediately obvious, so we always like to carry out a thorough physical examination during appointments. This includes:

  • Checking your pet’s skin, coat and ears for any signs of irritation or infection
  • Routine monitoring of vital organs (including heart, lung, bladder, liver and spleen)
  • Inspecting oral hygiene (since dental disease is a common issue in dogs and cats)

In addition to completing a comprehensive physical exam, we’ll also want to know about your pet’s medical history (previous illnesses or injuries, etc.) and whether you have any present concerns or nagging questions you’d like to discuss.

Does my pet need an annual health check?

We highly recommend that all pets are brought in for a routine annual health check. This helps your pet to stay happy, healthy and live the best life possible. An annual health check will assist in making sure that all your pet’s vaccinations are up to date, that they remain free of parasites and that they are in a healthy weight range. This annual check will also screen for a range of common health issues which can often be effectively treated if they are detected early on.

How can I make an appointment?

If you’re looking to make an appointment for your furry/feathered/scaled friend to see a vet, Baldivis residents will find the practice is open from 7am until 7pm, Monday through Friday. But unlike some vet clinics, Port Kennedy Veterinary Hospital is also open on the weekends (8am to 5pm) and even public holidays (9am to 5pm). So, we’re available to help your beloved pets no matter what day of the week it happens to be.
