DR DAVID HOARE B.Vet.Med.MRCVS

Dr David Hoare graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London in March 1970. He was in general practice (Small Animal, Agricultural & Equine) until 1997 and a Partner in that practice since 1973. David emigrated to Australia in October 1997 and started work at Port Kennedy Veterinary Hospital in November 1997. Seeing the practice’s potential David bought the hospital in April 1999. David last worked as a general Veterinarian in 2006, but maintains a keen interest in modern therapies and the maintenance of excellence in the hospital. Currently the Business Manager of Port Kennedy Veterinary Hospital, David was delighted to sell 1/2 of the practice (49%) to Dr Margret Horsley in December 2012.

DR MARGRET HORSLEY BSC BVMS (Hons) MACVSc

Dr Maggs Horsley graduated in 2000 from Murdoch. Prior to graduation, Maggs was a veterinary nurse who qualified in the UK in 1991. Upon graduation, she worked in private practice for 6 months, before moving to MPEC, where she worked for 4 years, running the emergency centre for her final 2 years there. Maggs then performed locums around the Perth area for 12 months, before staying here at Port Kennedy, where she now is clinic manager and part owner. Maggs obtained her MACVSc in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care in 2005.

DR ARTHUR ADAMS BVSc

Arthur is originally from Melbourne and graduated from Melbourne University in 1998. He worked in both mixed and small animal practice for a few years before spending 7 years in small animal practice in the UK. More recently Arthur has been working in Melbourne. He joined us at Port Kennedy Veterinary Hospital in 2013 after relocating to the West with his Western Australian wife, baby daughter and their two whippets. When he gets spare time Arthur enjoys golf, fishing and making homemade pizza. Arthur likes the busy and varied caseload at Port Kennedy. He enjoys working with the great team of people and the friendly patients (and their owners, of course).

DR MARK PENHALE BSc BVMS

Dr Mark Penhale comes from a long family tradition of veterinarians including both his father and grandfather. He graduated from Murdoch in 1991 and went into mixed animal practice in country WA, where he worked from Kunnunurra and Karratha down to Katanning and Albany. His varied career has included stints at Perth Zoo, Murdoch University and work in the UK and Asia. Mark loves to teach and has spent much of his freetime in recent years teaching vets in India, Indonesia and Africa. He also has a special interest in radiology and art which he has recently combined to have two art exhibitions.

DR REBECCA NILSEN BSc BVMS (Hons)

Rebecca has much to offer the clinic bringing her amazing knowledge from her recent 6 years of Veterinary Studies. Rebecca has special interests in Surgery, Wildlife and Exotics. Rebecca also loves to travel and study to further her knowledge and shares her home with her wonderful family and her brilliant Kelpie-x, Nelly

DR RACHEL BRIDGER BSc BVMS (Hons)

Dr Rachel Bridger graduated from Murdoch in 1999 with first class honours. She worked in mixed practice upon graduation, before changing to small animal medicine. Rachel has a special interest in Ophthalmology. She loves both animals and travel & regularly combines the two by volunteering in various veterinary program particularly in India, Africa & more recently Indonesia.

DR CAT NEVE BSc BVMS (Hons)

Cat is a recent graduate of Murdoch University who brings with her all the latest & greatest in veterinary medicine.  Also from Canada, Cat moved to Perth almost 10 years ago, and has grown to love both the Australian climate and laid-back lifestyle.  Cat has worked with us here at Port Kennedy in the past, and jumped at the opportunity to come back on board as a veterinarian when the opportunity recently arose.  Cat’s areas of special interest include emergency medicine and neurology.

DR SEVEN DEVERY BSc BVMS (Hons) MANZCVSc

Seven hails from Vancouver Canada where he studied Animal Biology before moving to Perth and completing a degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2011.  He spent the first few years in a mixed country practice, before joining us here at Port Kennedy in 2014.  Seven has particular interest in anaesthesia, pain relief and critical care, and went on to complete further studies in these disciplines in 2015, gaining membership in the ANZ college of veterinary scientists.  Seven enjoys both feline and canine medicine, as well as the provision of remote community and outreach veterinary work.

Dr SUSIE CLOHESSY BSc BVMS

Dr Susie graduated from Murdoch University in 2011. Following this, she began her career working in a busy emergency and specialty centre in Melbourne. She has since moved back to Perth to pursue an interest in small animal general practice medicine. Having previous experience within Port Kennedy Vet Hospital, Susie was excited when she was given the opportunity to rejoin the team as a veterinarian. She enjoys working with the dedicated and knowledgeable team and meeting the lovely clients and patients in the area!
