History: Fiona started working for Port Kennedy Veterinary Hospital in 2003, coming from a background of customer service and administrative positions. After training and working at the hospital for 7 years as a registered vet nurse she then took on the position of receptionist after the expansion of the hospital.
Pets: Fiona shares her house with her beloved Bernese Mountain Dog, Sage and two cats Jasper the spoilt feral and crazy Bazzinga. Both were adopted from the hospital’s stray program.
Hobbies: In her spare time Fiona loves to do art and design and is part of an international group of online artists.
History: Meg started working for Port Kennedy Veterinary Hospital in 2003 and is very experienced in all aspects of nursing. Meg also runs a weight loss clinic for the more “portly” pets and is only too happy to assist people with their pet’s dietary issues.
Pets: Meg lives locally and shares a home with her wonderful husband Simon, her son Zack and her beautiful boy cat, Conan.
Hobbies: In the little spare time she has, Meg likes to relax with her artistic endeavours or reading a good book.
History: Karoline has been at the Port Kennedy Veterinary Hospital since 2005. She is experienced in all facets of Veterinary Nursing and has a special interest in Surgical Nursing. Karoline has furthered her knowledge by completing a Post Graduate Veterinary Nurse Technician course.
Pets: Karoline shares her home and her lifestyle, with her awesome dog H.
Hobbies: Karoline loves the outdoors whether its Jet ski’s at the beach or camping in the bush.
History: Beverley has been at the Port Kennedy Veterinary Hospital since 2012. She is a qualified Veterinary Technician originally from Canada and is very experienced in all facets of Veterinary Nursing.
Family: Beverley shares her home with her husband, 3 boys, Abigail the black Labrador Retriever, Bruce the Liver & White Springer Spaniel, 3 feathered friends and a fish.
Hobbies: Beverley loves to support her family in their many sporting endeavours and enjoys time in her garden and with her beautiful pets.
History: Katrina joined Port Kennedy Vets in 2004 as a qualified veterinary nurse. Previously she was employed at Cat Haven in Shenton Park in the kennels of the rescue shelter. Shortly after commencing work at PKVH, Katrina also undertook training to become a qualified pet groomer.
Family: Katrina shares her home with her husband Anthony, son Oliver, their dogs Jayde and Duke and a posse of cats.
Hobbies: Katrina enjoys the gym in her spare time and outings with her family.
History: Laura-Lee studied veterinary nursing at Polytechnic West, during this time she attended the practice one day a week for work experience. She graduated in 2009 and joined the team at Port Kennedy as a full time nurse. In addition to her nursing roles Laura-Lee is our work experience co-ordinator and is involved with the hospital’s Stray Adoption Program.
Pets: Laura-Lee adopted four furry and feathered companions from the Port Kennedy Stray program…Sweet Pea, a cheeky budgie, Cruzer and Widget two troublesome but adorable lop eared bunnies and Mr Marshall-Marshy Pants Fluffykins who is in the running for the cutest kitten in the universe.
Hobbies: Laura-Lee enjoys volunteering with community service and creative writing in her spare time.
History: Nikki has an extensive background in customer service and administrative duties. She started work with Port Kennedy Veterinary Hospital in March 2011 after being selected to start a Veterinary Nursing Traineeship with the hospital. Nikki has since completed her studies and is now a fully qualified veterinary nurse.
Pets: She shares her home with her wonderful partner Michael and two beautiful daughters Chloe and Phoebe. Nikki has two wonderful dogs Holly and Max and has given a loving home to two of our older stray cats, Millie & Nova.
Hobbies: Nikki enjoys reading a good book, swimming and spending time with her beautiful daughters and pets.
History: Mason is currently a Veterinary Science student and aims to graduate in 2016, currently fulfilling Weekend Receptionist duties whilst studying.
Pets: Mason shares his home with a Labrador X named Lucy, a manic Border Collie called Skye and two Ragdoll cats named Bella and Holly.
Hobbies: In his spare time Mason enjoys sport, a good book and music.
History: Sarah is currently fulfilling Weekend receptionist duties whilst studying for her Bachelor of Veterinary Science. She also has a Bachelor of Environmental Science (Marine Biology) for which she graduated in 2009.
Pets: Sarah shares her home with a Kelpie x Curly Coated retriever – Indie
Hobbies: In her spare time she enjoys Netball and going to the gym.
History: Maddy is currently fulfilling Weekend receptionist duties whilst studying for her Bachelor of Veterinary Science, which she aims to complete in 2018.
Pets: Madeline shares her home with a “Cavoodle” called Coda, 3 cats; Bella, Roxy and Layla as well as a bearded Dragon called Puff.
Hobbies: Maddy enjoys working with dogs at the shelter and playing sports in her spare time.
History: Kelly is currently a 3rd year Veterinary Student and has been with the practice since 2011. She assists the practice on weekends whilst completing her university studies.
Pets: Kelly shares her home with a Collie dog named Scotty and a parrot called Sunnie.
Hobbies: In her spare time Kelly enjoys pursuing interests in wildlife and birds.
History: Nicole is a current Veterinary Science student and aims to complete her studies in 2018. She is currently fulfilling weekend reception duties at Port Kennedy Vets.
Pets: Nicole shares her home with two Dachshunds, Abby and Ruby.
Hobbies: In her spare time she enjoys reading a good book and doing anything outdoors.
History: Sylvia started working at the hospital in 2013 as the clinics Kennel Hand, and is a qualified trainer in pet dog training and agility.
Pets: Sylvia shares her home with her two working Border Collies, Jay and Gypsy, whom she trials in agility competitions and herding, Gypsy having gained the title of Agility Champion.
Hobbies: Agility and more dog training and somehow still manages to fit in her position as volunteer trainer for Assistance Dogs Australia, running a “Pups in Prison” program at Wooroloo Prison. This program teaches inmates how to train assistance dogs.
History: Josh started working at Port Kennedy as a kennel hand in 2013. He has attained a Certificate III in Companion Animal Services and Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and has also worked in a number of boarding kennels.
Pets: Josh is the proud owner of a beautiful German Shepherd named Sly.
Hobbies: Josh loves to draw, play computer games, create comics and computer animations in his relaxation time.
History: Georgia first attended Port Kennedy Veterinary Hospital in 2014 as a work experience student while completing her Certificate II in Companion Animal Services. In mid-2014, Georgia was offered a Traineeship and jumped at the opportunity to complete her Certificate IV in veterinary nursing while working at the hospital.
Pets: Georgia shares her home with her very excitable and loveable Staffy named Ruby.
Hobbies: Georgia loves spending time with friends and family, cooking, colouring in and discovering “totally awesome” movies to watch on her days off.
History: After bringing their fur kids to Port Kennedy Veterinary Hospital for the past 8 years, Loren was delighted to join the team as Trainee Veterinary Nurse and Grooming Assistant and is looking forward to the challenge ahead; meeting old and new prospective clients as well as their owners.
Pets: Loren lives in Port Kennedy with her husband Neil and their two very loved adopted Jack Russell Terriers, Eddie (the brave handsome man) and Elsie (the beautiful, mischievous blind little girl).
Hobbies: Loren enjoys spending time socialising with lovely friends, decorating and nice walks with her dogs.
History: Riëtta is originally from South Africa and only recently came to Australia in 2013. She started out as a work experience student at Port Kennedy Vets and graduated at the end of 2014 as a qualified veterinary nurse. At the end of her studies she leaped at the opportunity to become a casual member of the Port Kennedy Veterinary Hospital team.
Pets: Riëtta shares her home with her fiancé Gustav and their pet rats Zeo, Arrow, Dukey, Dasher.
Hobbies: Riëtta loves spending her spare time horse riding, reading or playing computer video games.
History: Hannah is currently fulfilling Weekend receptionist duties whilst studying for her Bachelor of Veterinary Science and aiming to complete her studies in 2018.
Pets: Hannah shares her home with two Corgies, Sally and Rosie.
Hobbies: In her spare time she enjoys the beach, playing netball and spending time with family and friends.
History: Olivia is fulfilling weekend receptionist duties whilst studying for her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, which she will complete in 2020.
Pets: Olivia shares her home with a Yorkshire Terrier named Mia and a dwarf lopped rabbit named Tim. Her West Highland White Terrier, Lily, is in the Czech Republic with her parents.
Hobbies: In her spare time, Olivia enjoys going to the gym and travelling.
